Hello! I just attended a workshop on Italian Renn gowns this past weekend (which was great) and am now interested in finding sources -- preferably online -- for Renn period gowns and underdresses. Specifically I'm looking for sources about closures (e.g., lacing? eyelets? buttons?), fabrics / colors, and so on. Also things about accessories, hair / head covering styles, and so on.
What I'd like to do is get an overview of what was going on in different regions, and make some distinctions between the different details (e.g., buttons in one region, not others; placement of lacings regionally, etc) so I can identify the location/period of garments in paintings more readily.
Thanks in advance!

You might also try the Faire Folk and RenFaireFolk tribes as well.
