Falcons' Court would like to invite you to audition for our 2004 faire season. We will be participating in 4 events this year: HOTF - Santa Barbara, HOTF - Tahoe, HOTF - Marin, and the Great Dickens Christmas Fair.
Falcons' Court specializes in keeping the ancient sport of falconry alive by first person historical interpretation of various nobles going out to hunt with hawks and falcons. As a member of our guild, you will participate in the stage presentation, will interact with customers and participants on the streets of the events, and learn principles of falconry while working with our hawks, falcons, and owls.
Any interested inquiries should be directed to falconscourt@falconscourt.org for dates and times. Most of our events take place in the San Francisco area, and this is strictly volunteer.
Auditioners must:
- Be able to pass all workshop requirements for AYLI events.
- Be willing to assist with building and tearing down of the guild area.
- Be able to procure appropriate & approvable costuming and accessories for each event.
- Be willing to interact with patrons and participants while in character.
- Be dedicated to Falcons' Court (i.e. no schedule conflicts with any other groups, guilds, stage shows or booths at any given event).
- Research and present an Elizabethan character (1560-1595) for HOTF events and/or a Victorian character (1845-1865) for Dickens. Characters to be approved at audition.*
*Character does not need to be English national.
